The GEMS lithology entry tool allows the user to quickly enter
many lithologic borings by simple clicking on characteristics
from lists.

Once lithology has been entered, the user can then query it by
several characteristics and then export the data to a visualization
package so that layers may be represented in 2 or 3 dimensions.
